It's been a while since we have seen a new clamshell release so does Sony Ericsson's new walkman phone pack a big enough punch to bring back the crustaceans?
The W980i is not that bad looking for a clamshell phone which are normally cumbersome and fragile. The front of the phone has a mirror like quality to it when inactive but as soon as you press any of the keys the cover lights up to reveal the touch-sensitive keys used for controlling the radio and media player.
Being a Walkman phone your will need some space to store your music. It's good then that the W980i has been given 8GB of on-board memory to store your favourite tracks. If with that you ever find that you run out of music, there is a FM Radio built-in to the handset.
