The Nokia E72 is less of a new handset and more of an upgrade of the amazingly successful E71. The E71 is very popular for business users and high volume texters due to it's full QWERTY keypad. The E72 continues this heritage....
The handset has undergone a brief makeover giving the old E71 some extra class, the 3.15 Megapixel camera has been swapped with a 5 Megapixel version, the E72 has faster mobile internet speeds of 10.2Mb/s and battery life has been improved(not that it needed doing). The main navigation button has also been changed so that you can scroll through documents and menus making the handset more seamless than ever. All this and no noticeable change in weight!
The Infrared port has been lost, but Bluetooth has pretty much killed the Infrared market in mobiles as it means there doesn't have to be the close proximity and the “line-of-sight†that Infrared requires to operate. In fact it was a surprise to many that Nokia included it in the E71 model.

A re-cap of what remains from the E71 are things like: Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth with AD2P (So you can stream music wirelessly), an extensive media player and Microsoft QuickOffice which allows you to write and read Microsoft Office documents on the handset.
The Nokia E72 is going to be the most likely upgrade choice for E71 users and is a great choice for anybody who spends a lot of time texting or instant messaging.
